Hi everyone!
I ran this format a while back, and told Jim about it, and he was willing to give it a shot.
Heres the format
We would get all drivers from Highoctane, and Excel, and possibly SKFSA, and put ALL members in a list of drivers. For the first time, we would just use division admins as the team captains.
All remaining drivers would be assigned a random number. The captains would then get together and start picking numbers(drivers). At this point, all they know is they choosed a numer, each captain takes their turn in order, picking from what numbers are left. When all numbers have been picked, we then reveal what number was assigned to which driver, and this makes the team.
We ran a 8 week season to not drag it out. Lets say each team was made up of 4 members(depends on participation), we only scored the top 3 drivers for each race. We did this in case one member could not be there, it would keep that team from getting hit hard in points for that week.
After the eight week season is up, the highest accumlative driver in points on that team, would now be the captain for the next season, and he/she would be doing the picking. So as you can see, the teams will always be changing from season to season. It is very possible teamates could be on the same team back to back, but the possibility of the same team being exact would really be slim.
We could either vote on a MOD to run, or could run serveral mods during the season. Example, first 2 weeks run cup, 2nd 2 weeks run nationwide..etc
Far as picking tracks, I would let the captains decide what track would be run each season.
Last we would need to determine a day or night. Due to the running of each leagues main races, Saturday Morning would be the best choice.
Will post this over at Highoctane, and ask M Richey if SKFSA would be interested.
Guess we need to find out from Excel who would be interested.
We ran a fixed fast league to avoid setup issues, but me personally would like to run this as OPEN, since we run so many "Fixed" races as is.
This was a lot of fun I can assure you, and remember, it's a TEAM concept, not individual accomplishment. |

i would see how many drivers you can get. let them run there number
they run all the time. to save time painting up new cars. i think team racing would be fun. maybe more of the RTR driver may get into it too.
i would stay running fix setup alot of driver will not take time making setups. i like both. but if you want a good turn out. stay with fix. |

Saturday nights, 8:00 pm et
Running the new Gn63 mod..same format as before..we pick random teams.
Post below if you can join us....we also need you to be commited as much as possible or the scoring will not be fair. Want to start next week..so post ASAP
We will run the nascar 2005 version...so if you don't have it, get with an Excel admin...all you need to do is drop the NR2005.exe right into the nascar 2003 folder, then just update the options button in the OLR client and point the game path to your NR2003 folder so it knows where the game is located....then just put in any 2005 track and series into the 2003 track and series folder and you should be all set
Or email me at mikeva1961@comcast.net |
